Terms of Service

By accessing and using trueNAICS ("the Service"), operated by Veridion ("we", "our", "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service. Your continued use of the Service following the posting of any changes to these Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

2. Description of Service

trueNAICS is a free, web-based tool that provides NAICS (North American Industry Classification System) code lookups, company industry classification, crosswalk conversions between industry classification systems (SIC, NACE, ISIC), and related educational content. The Service is powered by Veridion's company intelligence platform, which analyzes data from over 120 million companies worldwide.

5. Rate Limits and Fair Use

To ensure fair access for all users, the Service enforces rate limits on searches and API calls. The current limit is 10 company searches per hour per IP address. Exceeding these limits will result in temporary restrictions on your access. Rate limits are subject to change without notice. For bulk data needs, enterprise access, or API integration, please contact our sales team through veridion.com.

6. Data Accuracy and Disclaimer of Warranties

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date NAICS classifications, the data is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, or non-infringement.

NAICS code assignments are based on evidence-based analysis using Veridion's AI-powered classification engine and may not reflect official government classifications assigned by the U.S. Census Bureau, IRS, or other agencies. Users should independently verify NAICS codes for official filings, government contracts, insurance applications, or regulatory compliance.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, nor do we warrant that any data provided will be accurate or reliable.

NAICS codes and their titles are maintained by the U.S. Census Bureau and are in the public domain. However, the following elements are proprietary to Veridion and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws:

The Service is powered by Veridion's company intelligence platform. By using the Service, you acknowledge that your queries may be processed by Veridion's systems. The Service also uses Cloudflare for security and performance, and PostHog for analytics. Your use of the Service is subject to these third parties' respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL VERIDION, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:

Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100.00).

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Veridion, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service, including but not limited to any use of data obtained from the Service other than as expressly authorized in these Terms.

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time at our sole discretion. If a revision is material, we will make reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect, such as posting a notice on the Service. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bucharest, Romania.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be modified and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

15. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy & Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Veridion regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements, communications, and understandings, whether written or oral, with respect to the Service.
